Bismarck State College Athletic Scholarships

Bismarck State College (BSC) is a complete community college established in 1939 and is located in Bismarck, North Dakota, USA. It is part of the North Dakota University System with around 4,200 students, offering two-year and four-year courses. It also offers technical degree programs in network or system administration and web design.
The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges & Schools granted accreditation to Bismarck State College as well as the following, the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical laboratory sciences, the Commission on the Accreditation of Allied Health education Program, the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation and the Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc to name a few.

Athletics Department of Bismarck State College

The athletics department provides what the athletes would need physically, emotionally, academically and spiritually. Intercollegiate athletics are an important experience for athletes because it is a major part of their college life. There are many skills, attitude and talent to be gained while playing sports. Athletic skills are enhanced through a comprehensive training and proper attitude and discipline. Higher education is prioritized thus setting a balance between the academic scene and the athletic scene. Sports medicine is provided to look after and monitor the physical welfare and health of athletes.

Athletic facilities play a key factor because it serves as a venue for training and practicing skills and weaknesses. The facilities are the BSC armory, the LaMont’a Pit stop, the BSC Aquatic & Wellness Center, and the MDU Resources Community Bowl.

Athletic Programs of Bismarck State College

Intramural sports, student government, intercollegiate sports, entertainment, picnics and other special interest or hobbies, are part of the student life on campus. Joining a club is easy because there are a lot of choices. Involvement in student activities outside the classroom will enhance a student’s personality. Some of the choices are the student publication which is called the Mystician, clubs or organizations, band, student government, chamber choir or concert, campus crusade, drama club, engineering club, Intramurals, fraternities or sororities, and varsity sports to name a few.

OFFICIAL SPORTS TEAM: Bismarck State Mystics

Mystics are the official representative in all intercollegiate sports events. There are men’s teams playing baseball, soccer, basketball and golf. The women’s teams play fast pitch softball, volleyball, soccer, golf and basketball. There are total 9 varsity teams sponsored by the school. The Mystics compete in Region XIII in the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA). The Mystics won the 1974 Region XIII Championship title.

Bismarck State College provides financial assistance through scholarships, grants, loans and work-study programs. There are many types of scholarship available, namely, the BSC Foundation Scholarship Program offering academic, visual arts, journalism, technical and performing arts scholarships.

Athletic scholarships are provided to qualified student athletes of Bismarck. Head coaches and the athletic director determine the recipients.
