Belmont University Athletic Scholarships

Belmont University is a private Christian university located in Nashville, Tennessee. This coeducational institution focuses on liberal arts and offers over 75 Bachelor’s degree programs, 20 Masterals, and 4 Doctoral programs. It is also known for its AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) International accredited music business program. With 11 schools and colleges, Belmont offers students a diverse choice of majors from the arts to business administration and many more. The 75-acre campus houses the Belmont Mansion, the Curb Event Center, and the newly opened Gordon E. Inman Center for the college of Health Sciences and Nursing. Athletics Department of Belmont University

Belmont University is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference in most of its sports, with the exception of men’s soccer. It is also a member of the NCAA, falling under Division I.

Basketball teams use the Curb Event Center, a 5000 seat multipurpose arena completed in 2003. For other outdoor sports, teams use the E.S. Rose Park, Percy Warner Park and the Francis Bond Davis Tennis Complex.

Athletic Programs of Belmont University

Belmont University sponsors teams for sports like basketball, cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track and field, soccer and tennis. The men’s division has a team for baseball, while women have teams for volleyball and softball.

The Beaman Student Life Center offers the necessary amenities and equipment for fitness and recreation. It is also home to the Student Affairs Suite and different meeting rooms. This 63,340 square foot facility has a weight room, group fitness room, racquetball courts, a rock climbing wall and a recreational gymnasium. Belmont also boasts of its state-of-the-art athletic training room, which is equipped with the latest technology and a trained staff. In here, athletes learn about treatment and rehabilitation for injuries sustained during matches and preventive measures for training and actual matches.

OFFICIAL SPORTS TEAM: Belmont Bruins

The Belmont Bruins, formerly called the Belmont Rebels, is the official sports team of Belmont University. “Bruins” comes from the Middle English word for “Bear”, which is also the official logo of the team.

The Belmont Bruins consists of highly competitive sports teams that have found success in their fields. Student-athletes have consistently won the Atlantic Sun Conference Academic Trophy, specifically eight times in ten years.

Much of their success comes from the Belmont Bruins men’s basketball team. Through this team, Belmont University has won five times in the Atlantic Sun Regular Season Championship within six consecutive years.

Guide to Athletic Scholarships for Belmont University

The Bruin Club is the official fun raising organization of Belmont University, serving student-athletes so they can compete on intercollegiate events. The club supports student-athletes through scholarship grants and the improvement of facilities needed in training. Through donations from the community, the club is able to continue funding for scholarships, pushing students to excel in both the academic and athletic sides of learning.

Student-athletes looking for financial assistance may apply for grants and awards from the Bruin Club and other Varsity Clubs of Belmont University. A requirement for a student to maintain his/her grant is to score a good academic performance rate (APR).
