CU’s Josh Ford Denied Sixth Year

Kyle Ringo of BuffZone.com:

Colorado football coach Mike MacIntyre said running back Josh Ford’s appeal to the NCAA for a sixth season of eligibility has been denied, ending his college career.

From his bio on Colorado’s website, Ford is just listed as redshirting in 2010, his first season at Colorado. He also did not play as a freshman at Barton Community College in 2009, but the school did not field a football team so that would not count as one of his denied participation opportunities. He also missed the 2013 season with a high ankle sprain. So it sounds like both the 2010 and 2013 season involved the type of lingering, nagging injuries that are hard to show completely prevented a player from playing, especially years after the fact.
