SELU and NCAA Find No Violations with Parking Tickets

Southeastern Louisiana University and the NCAA have finished a joint investigation and found no evidence that student-athletes were given preferential treatment with their parking tickets:

SLU encouraged anyone with information regarding evidence of wrongdoing by any university employee to provide such evidence to authorities. They said the investigations were handled by going through a series of parking records and staff interviews to include campus police, members of the Department of Athletics and the athletes themselves.

Parking tickets were also at issue last year with North Carolina.

Free parking passes for student-athletes are generally not allowed. Between the cost of passes, the difficulty of getting passes, and what student-athletes need to do with their vehicles (like park them for days at a time during road trips), big parking fines are not uncommon. This should be on the docket soon as the NCAA slims down the rule book.
