College Water Polo Recruiting and Scouting Scholarship Information
Our athletic scouting and recruiting service can help you when applying for a college water polo scholarship. You might be one of the best players in the country but it doesn’t matter how good you are, to be scouted-recruited and be in the running for college water polo scholarships you need to tell the college coaches who you are and why you deserve to be recruited. COACHES AND SCOUTS CANNOT EVALUATE YOUR SPORTING POTENTIAL IF THEY DON’T KNOW YOU’RE OUT THERE.
Not all athletic scholarships are full ride like women’s tennis and basketball, so called “head count sports”; most are classed as “equivalency sports”, like water polo. Put simply this means that coaches can “share” their allocation between a larger number of players.
This is good news for the players. If we take women’s water polo as an example we see that a coach can divide the “8″ scholarships between a larger number of water polo players. Say 12 partial instead of 8 full ride scholarships. If you are good enough of course then you may be offered a full ride scholarship.
College water polo scouting is very competitive, college water polo coaches and scouts are looking for athletes with all-round talent. We would suggest that you attend a college water polo camp, it’s a great way to get noticed and boost your recruiting opportunities as well as your chances of being scouted by water polo recruiters.
The process of finding and contacting coaches and dealing with the rules and regulations enforced by the NCAA is quite a daunting process for both athletes and parents. The use of our college recruiting and scouting service is a must for all athletes who are serious about playing water polo at college level.
Many fine young athletes are overlooked each year because they didn’t submit their athletic profile to the “right” colleges or left out vital information. It’s also a fact that many colleges simply don’t allocate all of their water polo recruiting funds because “suitable” athletes didn’t approach them.
The NCAA allows each division I water polo program 4.5 scholarships for men and 8 for women. In division II the ratio is also for 4.5 for men and 8 for women.
As a high school water polo player you should be aware that the standard of play at college level is very high. I would recommend that you attend a few games to gauge the actual intensity of water polo at the collegiate level. Remember that only the absolute top players will be approached with offers.
Most water polo players will have to market themselves. You can try to do this yourself or use our athletic recruiting service.
IMPORTANT: You are not breaching any NCAA rules by using our athletic scouting and recruiting service when applying for a water polo scholarship.
