WHAT WE DO

We are here to answer all of your recruiting questions. If we haven’t
already answered your question, just ask us and will probably create a
video or a blog answering your question. If we can’t answer your question
ourselves, we will find the answer somewhere else. It is our goal to help
all committed families and athletes get recruited and ultimately find a
scholarship.

We help families by answering questions through social media and providing
eBooks, blogs and videos for our website. Hands down, our best resource is
our College Coach’s Database, which has the contact information for every
college coach in the country. With our college coaches database, athletes
can search for schools, save their favorites and get the email address,
phone number and recruiting questionnaire for every program in the country.
All of these resources are designed to help athletes get recruited.

In order to be able to provide all of this assistance and information for
free, we have established fantastic partners who help support our efforts.
We partner with different paid recruiting services and some of the best
recruiting consultants in the business. Our partners are there for families
looking for a higher level in recruiting assistance. We understand what a
huge help the right recruiting service can be for a family, since we used
to be one ourselves, and we are happy to help you match up with the service
that is right for you.

Athnet started as a recruiting service and we had personal recruiting
coaches who worked directly with athletes as they navigated through the
recruiting process together. Since then, we have developed into a
comprehensive online resource for athletes and families. Our passionate
team of committed recruiting experts love to do what we do and look forward
to helping you!

President & Founder

I am originally from Melbourne, AUS and came to the U.S. on a DI Track scholarship to High Point University. After a transfer to Nicholls State University, and then to CSU Monterey Bay, I graduated and became the assistant coach for two seasons. I am fan of the 49ers, Warriors, and Vancouver Canucks.

I have spent over a decade in the college recruiting business as a prospective athlete, collegiate athlete, college coach, and President and Founder of a sports recruiting service. This is my dream career path and I am dedicated to providing a fantastic recruiting resource to student-athletes and their families.

My Recruiting tip: “When you are emailing coaches, do not email them like it is a text message. 2-3 sentence emails do not get a response!”

I went to college at CSU Monterey Bay where I competed in the golf and Cross Country teams. I am a 49ers, Giants, and Sacramento Kings (while they are still in Sacramento) fan. I love the hustle of working in a new company and really enjoy the people I work with. When I’m not working, I like to get on my road bike, surf, and get into the mountains.

My Recruiting Tip: “Recruiting is your responsibility and no one else’s.”

Growing up, you could always find me outside playing sports (volleyball, swimming, soccer, and basketball). I went to college and earned a walk-on rowing scholarship at UC Davis, and rowed all four years while I was there. I then went to Seattle University for grad school where I earned my Masters in Sports Administration and Leadership. I moved back to CA for an opportunity to work on the Athnet team and I love it! I still play volleyball whenever I can and love to go running. I’m an avid SF Giants, 49ers, and Cal fan too!

My Recruiting tip: “Make sure to keep your options open! Explore as many schools as possible so you don’t miss out on any opportunities.”

Sports have been and will always be my life, my dedication, and my passion. I love every aspect that sports bring into our lives, this was part of my reasoning behind pursuing and achieving my master’s degree in Sports Management from Florida State University. Football is the sport I am most passionate about, I played football for a long time and would have continued to play in college if I had not suffered a neck injury which, after heavy consideration, ended my career. I now enjoy working with high school athletes, helping them with their decisions and pushing them in the right direction to pursue their passions and dreams. I draw my knowledge from experiences I have had as a player, a recruit, and a professional in both high school and college sport settings. I truly believe and have seen, if you want something bad enough you have to make it happen for yourself; this works with sports and in life.

My Recruiting tip: “Excel in the classroom- there’s nothing a coach likes better than a good athlete who gets good grades.”

I am the rookie on the Athnet team. I have been involved in sports as long as I can remember. In high school, I was a 3-sport athlete (tennis, basketball, and softball). I had a short career in college tennis and continue to play in league tennis matches. I love Frisbee-golf and kayaking. My favorite teams are the SF Giants, and the New Orleans Saints. I went to CSU Sacramento and graduated with a degree in Recreation Administration. I love working with athletes and helping them reach their collegiate goals.

My Recruiting tip: “Get organized! It’s important that you keep all of your recruiting information together and you know what Coaches and Universities you have been in contact with.”

Mark Finnegan

Hometown: Kildare, Ireland
School: University of Memphis (former player, now assistant coach)
Graduating Class: 2004
Sport: Tennis

I would highly recommend any level of tennis player to use Athletic Scholarships if they want to give themselves the best recruiting advantage possible. Within one week of contacting Athletic Scholarships, I had multiple offers from very highly competitive programs.

Out of all my choices, I decided on the University of Memphis. Currently, I am the assistant coach for the team. If it were not for Athletic Scholarships I would never have had time to find myself the best university to suit my needs. Since I am now a coach, I have become the recruiter, and I can see the difference between athletes who use a recruiting service like Athletic Scholarships versus athletes who do not.

As a coach and former college player, I can tell you that Athletic Scholarships is the best investment you will ever make in your life!

I just wanted to thank you for all your help with Amanda’s resume. I’ll just give you a snapshot of how things went. Amanda chose Michigan State University and is one of only two freshman athletes on the Varsity Crew.

Thank you again for getting us started!

Jessica Peake

Hometown: Baton Rouge, LA
School: Southern University
Sport: Tennis

I found out about athleticscholarships.net and the wonderful college recruiting service they provide from the mother of a friend of mine. She showed me the website and I emailed Athletic Scholarships Sports Recruiting at college sports recruiting services straight away. I was the top tennis player at my school and was hoping to get a tennis scholarship but had no help and was so lucky to find Athletic Scholarships Sports Recruiting. They took me step by step through the whole recruiting process and I was amazed at the response I had from coaches. We communicated daily for around 7 weeks and I was impressed with how quickly they responded to me and how much they helped me. They take pride in their work and in their athletes and I have recommended their service to many other athletes. I love playing tennis at the intercollegiate level at Southern University and without their help I don’t know where I would be playing tennis today.

Chad Portwood

School: Western State College of Colorado
Sport: Cross Country and Track

I found Athletic Scholarships Sports Recruiting service on the Internet and emailed them to learn more about it. We talked for about a week and I decided to give it a try and it has helped me out a lot. I gave them some information about myself, and my track and cross country PRs and they developed my resume and sent it across the country to 100′s of college coaches. In the first week I received about 100 replies and was well on my way to learning about colleges I had never heard about before. A few weeks later I had had talks with about 20 different colleges on the phone and received a huge stack of information. I received 4 full scholarship offers for track and cross country and decided to attend Western State College of Colorado. I would recommend their college recruiting service for any athlete looking to get recruited.
