Meet the Athnet Team!

Mike Lancaster –President & Founder
Hometown: Melbourne, AUS
I am originally from Melbourne, AUS and came to the U.S. on a DI Track scholarship to High Point University. After a transfer to Nicholls State University, and then to CSU Monterey Bay, I graduated and became the assistant coach for two seasons. I am fan of the 49ers, Warriors, and Vancouver Canucks.
I have spent over a decade in the college recruiting business as a prospective athlete, collegiate athlete, college coach, and President and Founder of a sports recruiting service. This is my dream career path and I am dedicated to providing a fantastic recruiting resource to student-athletes and their families.
My Recruiting tip: “When you are emailing coaches, do not email them like it is a text message. 2-3 sentence emails do not get a response!”

David Frank – VP Sales & Marketing
Hometown: Redding, CA
I went to college at CSU Monterey Bay where I competed in the golf and Cross Country teams. I am a 49ers, Giants, and Sacramento Kings (while they are still in Sacramento) fan. I love the hustle of working in a new company and really enjoy the people I work with. When I’m not working, I like to get on my road bike, surf, and get into the mountains.
My Recruiting Tip: “Recruiting is your responsibility and no one else’s.”

Mali Cuda – Marketing Research Specialist
Hometown: Walnut, CA
I went to Fresno State on a swimming scholarship and earned a degree in Sports Public Relations. I love following Fresno State Football and Baseball, the St. Louis Rams, and the San Jose Sharks. I love spending time with my family at their sports events or at Disneyland.
My Recruiting tip: “Make sure you attend camps! If you are interested in a school, going to one of their camps is the best way to get noticed by their coaches.”
Tom Schlegel – Creative Director (College Sports Scholarships)
Hometown: Sonoma, CA
I played football and basketball in high school. I live and die for the Bay Area teams I grew up watching as a kid: 49ers, the Giants, and Warriors. I act as the Creative Director at College Sports Scholarships.
My Recruiting tip: “Don’t put anything on your Facebook page you wouldn’t want your mom to see.”

Ashley Lawrence – Creative Director & Recruiting Specialist
Hometown: Menlo Park, CA
Growing up, you could always find me outside playing sports (volleyball, swimming, soccer, and basketball). I went to college and earned a walk-on rowing scholarship at UC Davis, and rowed all four years while I was there. I then went to Seattle University for grad school where I earned my Masters in Sports Administration and Leadership. I moved back to CA for an opportunity to work on the Athnet team and I love it! I still play volleyball whenever I can and love to go running. I’m an avid SF Giants, 49ers, and Cal fan too!

My Recruiting tip: “Make sure to keep your options open! Explore as many schools as possible so you don’t miss out on any opportunities.”

Andrew Bruno – Recruiting & Social Media Specialist
Hometown: Hopewell, NJ
I am a former baseball and basketball player and an avid fan of all sports. My favorite teams to watch are the NY Giants, Yankees, NY Rangers, and the Knicks.
My Recruiting tip: “Don’t just wait for coaches to find you! You should be reaching out to coaches at schools that interest you as early as your freshman or sophomore year of high school.”

Joshua Zimmerman – Recruiting & Social Media Specialist
Punta Gorda, FL
Sports have been and will always be my life, my dedication, and my passion. I love every aspect that sports bring into our lives, this was part of my reasoning behind pursuing and achieving my master’s degree in Sports Management from Florida State University. Football is the sport I am most passionate about, I played football for a long time and would have continued to play in college if I had not suffered a neck injury which, after heavy consideration, ended my career. I now enjoy working with high school athletes, helping them with their decisions and pushing them in the right direction to pursue their passions and dreams. I draw my knowledge from experiences I have had as a player, a recruit, and a professional in both high school and college sport settings. I truly believe and have seen, if you want something bad enough you have to make it happen for yourself; this works with sports and in life.
My Recruiting tip: “Excel in the classroom- there’s nothing a coach likes better than a good athlete who gets good grades.”

Judy Miramontes – Recruiting & Social Media Specialist
Hometown: Woodland, CA
I am the rookie on the Athnet team. I have been involved in sports as long as I can remember. In high school, I was a 3-sport athlete (tennis, basketball, and softball). I had a short career in college tennis and continue to play in league tennis matches. I love Frisbee-golf and kayaking. My favorite teams are the SF Giants, and the New Orleans Saints. I went to CSU Sacramento and graduated with a degree in Recreation Administration. I love working with athletes and helping them reach their collegiate goals.
My Recruiting tip: “Get organized! It’s important that you keep all of your recruiting information together and you know what Coaches and Universities you have been in contact with.”

Luca – Office Mascot
Luca, a yellow lab, loves to hang out with the Athnet team as they help athletes through the recruiting process. He’s been known to chase a ball or two, but his favorite thing to do is nap in the sun. Luca provides the Athnet team with moral support and always keeps a smile on our faces!
Luca’s Recruiting tip: “Do you have any treats??”
