East Texas Baptist University is situated in Marshall, Texas, an historic city of Twenty Five Thousand nestled in the scenic woodlands of East Texas. It is part of the much bigger metropolitan area of Longview, Texas, and Shreveport, Louisiana, and is situated One Hundred and Fifty miles east of Dallas texas, on Interstate 20. Marshall is in the center of a recreational and tourist region, and is close to the Caddo Lake recreational area.
East Texas Baptist University is an undergraduate college affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas since 1912. the University's stated purpose is the development of intellectual inquiry, social consciousness, wellness, skills for a contemporary society, global awareness, and Christian character, the institution believes that these endeavors prepare students to accept the obligations and opportunities to serve humanity and the Kingdom of God. The School's primary focus is on a quality academic program of baccalaureate studies in the humanities, fine arts, natural and social sciences and selected professional areas.
