COLORADO state university

Colorado State University is situated in Fort Collins – on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains with the foothills and fourteen thousand foot peaks visible to students.

There is easy access to skiing, hiking, rafting and other outdoor sports for Colorado State University students, faculty and staff. Situated north of the Denver metropolitan area, the university is about an hour away from Denver International Airport.

Colorado State University was founded in 1870 as the Agricultural College of Colorado. The college 1st opened its doors to students in 1879 with President Elijah Edwards and 2 faculty members. From these humble beginnings, a world-class university grew. Today, Colorado State University has more than Twenty two thousand students, is a Carnegie Class one research institution with annual research expenditures of over$138 million. The insyitution has about one thousand four hundred faculty in 8 colleges and fifty five academic departments and boasts more than 116,000 living alumni. Included in this list are everything from state governors, heads of corporations, teachers, researchers, Olympic gold medallists, artists and many other leaders in society.

Colorado state is a member institution of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Division I-Mountain West Conference and the following varsity sports are offered:

Women’s Basketball, Men’s Basketball, Football, Cross Country, Women’s Golf, Men’s Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field, Swimming and Diving, Softball, Women’s Tennis, Women’s Volleyball and Women’s Water Polo.
