The number of college teams that have National College Paintball Association has increased on average 65% each year since its founding in 2000 with just Twenty clubs. Since then the Association has averaged an annual membership increase of 65%. Currently, the NCPA has more than Seven Thousand members representing over Two Hundred and fifty schools nationally.
The sport of paintball has experienced rapid, double-digit growth each year, with the latest statistics showing nearly Ten million participants per year and 1.5 million "frequent" players who play 15 or more days per year. The National Collegiate Paintball Association is an incorporated, non-profit organization made up of college paintball clubs and teams from across the nation. The NCPA facilitates the creation and growth of college and high school paintball clubs and events and national coordination amongst college and high school clubs and teams. These teams and clubs work together with the national organization to create and develop new participants for the sport of paintball. |
The NCPA runs a nationwide college paintball league designed to provide a quality, friendly and inexpensive way for players to try competitive paintball and improve their skills. The NCPA also financially subsidizes competition within its leagues.
The National College Paintball Association also provides similar services at the high school level in an effort to encourage paintball participation at an earlier age and therefore provide college paintball with more experienced students to help the NCPA develop as many athletes as possible.
