Richy Klepal was forced to quit football due to concussions but Florida State will honor his scholarship offer:
“I just got a call from coach Weiner from coach Fisher that they are going to honor my scholarship, which is a huge weight off my shoulders,” Klepal said. “That makes me happy.”
Not only is it the right thing to do, but the decision should be easy for Florida State, which does not use on of its 85 football scholarships. Klepal will be on a permanent medical noncounter scholarship as soon as he arrives on campus. And Klepal can stay involved with football as a student-assistant coach, which is permitted based on his career-ending injuries.
